Welcome to Iceland!

NW Production wants to inspire you in Iceland!

This Nordic island country is located between the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. It has a population of about 330 tousand and an area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), making it the most sparsely populated country in Europe. The capital and largest city is Reykjavík where are over two-thirds of the population.

Due to its location, Iceland has a great volcanic activity and an important geothermal gradient, which makes its landscape of an immense beauty. A place of extreme contrasts, where fire and ice co-exist. Here the dark winters are offset by the summer’s midnight sun.

In Iceland the summers are surprisingly warm, lush and green, with the days lengthening until midsummer when the sun dips down to touch the horizon but never sets. During winter you can marvel at the amazing, undulating green, blue, yellow and pink lights of the Aurora Borealis in the night sky.

This magnificent island guarantees a new and different experience during the whole year. On the island you can ride the famous Iceland horses, go on jeep safari, go on an Ice Trekking or go for a swim in the warm and mineral rich water in the Blue Lagoon. There is a multitude of possibilities for exciting day tours in Iceland!

In the mountain areas close to Reykjavik you can go on a volcano jeep tour, where you head off in your super jeeps for the rough tracks of Reykjanes, one of the most active volcanic areas in Iceland. On your way, you might see the fish that is being dried out in the lava field, like it has been for centuries here in Iceland. Maybe a stop to explore and take in the view of a beautiful volcanic landscape and a visit  to the geothermal area of Krýsuvík and Lake Kleifarvatn with its hot springs and solfatares. The moonlike surroundings of the lake never fail to leave a strong impression on the visitors!

Iceland’s welcome for tourists is always warm. Almost everyone speaks fluent English and Icelanders aren’t really given to formalities. It's the ideal place for taking a break and setting foot on a European outpost with an exciting, lively, ancient and thriving culture all of its own. You’ll feel at home – free to walk around, shop, admire, explore.

Iceland is a place you could go on discovering forever!
